One winter night an old beggar woman comes to the castle and offers him a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince sneers at the gift and turns the old woman away. She warns him not to be deceived by appearances for beauty is found within; but when he dismissed her again, the old woman’s ugliness melts away to reveal a beautiful enchantress. As punishment she transforms him into a hideous beast and places a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there. The only way to break the spell is for the beast to learn to love another and earn her love in return by the time the last petal of the enchanted rose falls…
